Dr. Clara Walton

Dr. Clara WaltonDr. Clara Walton was born in Birmingham, Alabama on June 9, 1949.  At the age of 12 years old, she received the Holy Ghost at McAdory Temple COGIC under the Pastorate of the Late Elder A.F. Johnson, Sr. Prophetess Walton’s Mother Osie Lofton was the District Missionary.  After graduating from high school, she attended Miles College in Birmingham, AL. majoring in Elementary Education.  In 1971, she received a Bachelors of Science degree.  However, a few months before she graduated she received in an audible voice from God that he had chosen her to teach his word and she said, “Yes to the Lord.”  She became both a natural and spiritual teacher.  After graduation she moved to Pennsylvania under the leadership of Bishop O.T. Jones, Jr.  She also taught under the public school system for 3 years there.  After coming to Alabama to do a revival, she met Evangelist Clifford Lee Walton and a year later Bishop O.L. Meadows at Emmanuel Temple COGIC married them.  They moved from there with their 1st child to Colorado Springs, Colorado and two years later they started a church, Faith Mission House of Prayer COGIC.  The Lord has blessed them to travel and minister in the United States, Germany, and other foreign countries.

In 1992, it was prophesied by Evangelist Alfred Henton that Prophetess Walton would start a ministry for women and it would be called “The Total Woman Ministry.”  That same year after praying and fasting Dr. Walton along with Evangelist Barnela Tabb started the outreach ministry with the purpose of reaching women who were downtrodden with low self-esteem and those who also needed spiritual guidance and a total wholeness in God. She received both her Masters and Doctorate degrees from James Dessault University/International Overcoming School of Religion.  She was led to start a Christian School and became the founder of Faith Academy Christian School.  She became the first black administrator of a Christian school K-12th grade in Colorado Springs, CO.  Many students who have graduated are now in Oral Roberts University and other colleges as well as the military.  Dr. Walton was appointed Chancellor over the Faith Bible Institute.  Dr. Walton is the mother of three children, 5 grandchildren, and is supported by her husband Bishop Clifford L. Walton, Sr.
